Coming! NTI UMNS Workshops: Fall 2007
Streamlined Program and Revised Agenda

The NTI will be sponsoring a second series of Injection Training Workshops on Botulinum Neurotoxin and Muscle Overactivity: Improving Patient Care in the Upper Motor Neuron Syndrome (UMNS). Like the 4 held this spring, these 5 workshops will feature talks covering the diagnosis and treatment of UMNS, the mechanism of action of botulinum neurotoxins, and technical considerations for botulinum neurotoxin treatment of UMNS. They will also involve hands-on patient demonstration sessions, allowing attendees to participate in patient assessment, and see how expert injectors perform muscle identification and localization, and actual injections of BoNTs for upper and lower limb conditions.

These workshops are designed for physiatrists, neurologists, orthopedic surgeons, residents and fellows in these specialties, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other health care professionals involved in the management of the upper motor neuron syndrome. A non-refundable registration fee of $25 is payable per workshop but will be waived for residents and fellows on validation of status at registration.

The workshops are supported by an unrestricted educational grant supplied by Allergan Inc. and by in-kind services of medical supplies by Allergan Inc. and Faith Medical Inc.

The workshops will be accredited for CME by the University of South Florida College of Medicine.

Detailed information on dates and locations will be posted here shortly. Please visit this page frequently for updates.
