PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
The goal of the Comprehensive Clinical Management (CCM) Workshop is to provide an integrated and comprehensive approach to managing patients who receive neurotoxin therapy, inclusive of multiple specialties and disciplines, and involving all aspects of patient care from pre-injection screening to post-injection follow-up physical therapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and speech therapy (speech language pathology; SLP). The program will provide participants with the methodologies for identifying and diagnosing clinical conditions that can be effectively treated by a combination of neurotoxin injection and appropriate follow-up care. Participants will be encouraged to learn and adopt a multidisciplinary team approach to patient management. The program will also allow a unique opportunity for clinical follow-up on select cases that use this comprehensive approach.
TARGET AUDIENCE:
This program is designed to educate and train physicians who treat patients with spasticity or movement disorders: primarily physiatrists and neurologists, as well as physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other healthcare professionals who are involved in the management of these patients.
